Hi Guys.
I had asked about this a long time ago.
When sending an announcement out to all vendors, it would be fantastic if the announcement could pick out the vendors first name and therefore it would feel more personal to the vendors.
For example, Mailchimp let's us do this Eg. Hi [First Name].
Is this something you are looking at implementing and if not right now, how can I make this possible?
Thanks

Hi Anthony,
Thanks for following up,
Currently MarketKing doesn't have built-in merge tags for personalizing announcements with vendor names.
As I see it, this is easier to add to emails, because those are one-time, but the main challenge is that it needs to be permanently replaced under the vendor dashboard as well. Announcements are global (same announcement for many users), so on the vendor dashboard it would need replacing on page load (so each user can see something different when loading the same announcement).
This is definitely something that would be useful and I can add it to our feature request list for future consideration. In the meantime, this could potentially be implemented with some custom code.
If you'd like to pursue a custom solution, you would need to work with a developer to create a function that:
1. Intercepts announcements before they're sent
2. Retrieves each vendor's first name from their user data
3. Replaces the placeholder with the actual name
4. Modifies the vendor dashboard announcements.php template so that it applies on each page load.
Kind regards,
Stefan
